Matthew 12:27: why religious leaders cannot speak for all their people, and why nobody will ever beat the Lord in an argument
Hello, dear friend. Welcome to episode 195. The topic today: “Do you want to argue with me? Let’s argue.” That is what the Lord Jesus said to the Pharisees. We have read several verses of this section, and today we review just one, here on the screen. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, please, Lord, guide us through this study. Matthew 12:27, section B:
“What power do your people use when they force out demons?”
Last week we talked about self-destruction. Today you will learn that our Lord God has no problem arguing with anyone.
“Your people,” not “you”
Some of the Pharisees accused the Lord Jesus of casting out the demons by the power of Satan. That is a ridiculous statement. But the Lord, rather than talking about that, responded with a question.
“Do you notice that he didn’t say, ”What power do you use?“”
He said, “Do your people use?” Because He is making a point to begin with. The Lord Jesus was saying: I know you Pharisees. You are not able to fight against the darkness like I do. And by the way, some of your people do fight against the darkness, casting out demons. Have you ever asked them what power they have to do that?
They didn’t say anything. So the Lord Jesus said to them:
“Your own people will prove that you are wrong.”
Leaders cannot speak for everyone
This is something interesting, my friend. There are religions out there with different buildings and outfits and positions and titles.
“Well, some of them, they think they speak for all the people in their religious group, but guess what? That’s not true.”
“They only say what they think. They cannot speak for the entire group, because they don’t have that moral authority.”
True Christianity
“And this is the interesting thing about Christianity, true Christianity.”
True Christianity believes that Jesus is the Son of God, that the Lord Jesus came back from death, that He paid the price for our salvation, that He is risen and He will come back. Some groups say they are believers, but they don’t believe that Jesus is alive, and they don’t believe that Jesus is the Son of God. And some of their leaders think that because they have a special outfit and a particular building, they are going to speak on behalf of the whole group.
“That is not true.”
Friends in different religious groups
I can tell you that by personal experience. I have friends in different religious groups, in different countries. Some of them don’t believe the entire Bible as I believe it: the Trinity of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, that He is God.
“I have friends among those groups because I’m not enemy to them.”
“They might think that I am their enemy, but that is what they think.”
When a leader teaches something the Scripture clearly says is sin, the Scripture still stands. There is forgiveness for anyone who truly wants to come into the Kingdom of God, and forgiveness is given when you believe in the entire Bible. That standard is the same for everyone: adultery and promiscuity do not inherit the Kingdom of God either.
“What the Lord God wants for all of us is to behave, to be decent.”
And when I talk with my friends about what their own leaders are saying, they tell me those leaders don’t speak for them.
“That’s why the Lord Jesus told them clearly, ”Your own people will prove that you are wrong.“”
Nobody will beat the Lord in an argument
“My friend, nobody will beat the Lord in an argument.”
“Nobody has the complete knowledge of what’s going on. Nobody understands things like our Lord God does.”
Some people grab an idea against God and hold it their entire life, mad at the Lord. They think that at the final judgment, when they present themselves to give an account of their lives, they will bring that card and say, “Wait a minute, Your Honor, you cannot judge me because I have this against you.”
“They are going to be surprised.”
“If anyone has the audacity to argue with our Lord God, this person will be humiliated publicly, notoriously and shamefully.”
“You, be careful what kind of things you say to our Lord directly or indirectly.”
The Lord God will always put in His place someone who thinks too much of himself, and who on top of that believes he can teach our Lord God a lesson.
“That is just silly. Don’t do that, my friend.”
“Nobody can beat the Lord.”

Questions this study answers
Questions & answers.
What does Matthew 12:27 mean?
Some of the Pharisees accused the Lord Jesus of casting out demons by the power of Satan. Rather than talking about that, He responded with a question: "What power do your people use when they force out demons?" He didn't ask what power they used, because those leaders could not fight against the darkness, but some of their own people did.
What did Jesus mean by "Your own people will prove that you are wrong"?
Religious leaders do not speak for everyone in their group. Dr. Gian: "Some of them, they think they speak for all the people in their religious group, but guess what? That's not true." "They only say what they think. They cannot speak for the entire group, because they don't have that moral authority."
Can a Christian be friends with people from other religious groups?
Yes. Dr. Gian has friends in different religious groups in different countries, even when they don't believe the entire Bible as he does: "I have friends among those groups because I'm not enemy to them." "They might think that I am their enemy, but that is what they think."
Can anyone win an argument with God?
No. "My friend, nobody will beat the Lord in an argument. Nobody has the complete knowledge of what's going on. Nobody understands things like our Lord God does." Some people hold something against God their whole life and think they will bring it up at the final judgment. "They are going to be surprised."
What happens to someone who argues with God?
"If anyone has the audacity to argue with our Lord God, this person will be humiliated publicly, notoriously and shamefully." So, "You, be careful what kind of things you say to our Lord directly or indirectly." What the Lord God wants for all of us is to behave, to be decent.

00:00Episode 195: "Do you want to argue with me? Let's argue."
Hello dear friend, welcome to our episode 195. August 5th, the topic today is: "Do you want to argue with me? Let's argue."
00:12What the Lord Jesus said to the Pharisees
That is what the Lord Jesus said to the Pharisees. This particular section, we have read several verses today.
00:22The reading: Matthew 12:27
We are going to review just one here on the screen. And we read in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Please, Lord, guide us through this study. Matthew 12:27, section B. "What power do your people use when they force out demons?"
00:39Last week: self-destruction
Last week we talked about self-destruction. It's an interesting study. Today you will learn that our Lord God has no problem arguing with anyone. That's right.
00:54The accusation: the power of Satan
Some of the Pharisees accused the Lord Jesus of casting out the demons by the power of Satan. That is a ridiculous statement. But the Lord, rather than talking about that thing, about Him, and Satan, responded with a question. And the question he asked him was, "What power do your people use when they force out demons?"
01:21"Your people," not "you"
Do you notice that he didn't say, "What power do you use?" Do you notice that? He says, "Do your people use?" Because he is making a point to begin with.
01:39"I know you Pharisees"
The Lord Jesus said, "I know you Pharisees. You are not able to fight against the darkness like I do. And by the way, some of your people, they do fight against the darkness casting out demons. Have you ever asked them, "What power do they have to do that?" You see that?
02:06"Your own people will prove that you are wrong"
So after that they didn't say anything, so the Lord Jesus even said this to them, "Your own people will prove that you are wrong."
02:17Leaders who think they speak for everyone
This is something interesting, my friend. Some of the religious leaders that you see out there in different religion groups, you know what kind of groups I am talking about, and you've figured yourself. But there are religions out there with different buildings and outfits and positions and titles. Well, some of them, they think they speak for all the people in their religious group, but guess what? That's not true. They only say what they think. They cannot speak for the entire group, because they don't have that moral authority. They don't have that level of representation.
03:05True Christianity
And this is the interesting thing about Christianity, true Christianity. True Christianity, not those that are kind of Christians. You figure yourself, which are the groups that I am talking about. Those groups, they say they are Christians, but they are not.
03:29What some groups do not believe
And we know that because to begin with, some of those groups, they do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God. They do not believe that the Lord Jesus came back from death, that He paid the price for our salvation, that He is risen and He will come back. Some of those groups, they say they are believers, but who knows what they believe? They don't believe that Jesus is alive. They don't believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Some of those groups, actually, they promote prayers, they say, which is ridiculous to say the word prayer, because what they do is they speak to images, male and female images. Do you understand what I am saying? Of course you do. And they just repeat words that somebody wrote one day, inspired by demons. And people just repeat that. Even they say, I was born and I will die. You understand?
04:37Leaders with special outfits and titles
So some of those groups, they have leaders. The leaders, they are obnoxious and they think that because they have a special outfit and they are in a particular building, in a particular event, they are going to speak on behalf of the whole group. That is not true.
04:59Friends in different religious groups
And I can tell you that by personal experience. I have friends in different groups, in different religious groups. Some of those, they don't believe, as I believe, the Bible, the entire Bible, about the Trinity of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, they don't believe in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. They don't believe that He is God. Still, with their dogmas and their weird ways of thinking, I have friends among those groups because I'm not enemy to them. They might think that I am their enemy, but that is what they think. However, among some of those groups, in different countries, I have different friends.
05:57When a leader goes against the Scripture
And when I talk with them about what their leaders are saying, for example, there is one group that the leader has been saying that it's okay in the eyes of God to be gay. That is correct. There is a particular big group, which headquarters are located in some country in Europe. They say that it's okay to be gay, while the Scripture clearly says that homosexuals are not going to inherit the kingdom of God. By the way, neither drunks and murderers in the same level of sin is put that thing. Oh, but they are good people. They are sweet people. Maybe they are nice, but they do something that is against nature, against the laws of God.
06:56There is forgiveness
If anybody that is homosexual has any desire to truly come into the kingdom of God, there is forgiveness, but forgiveness is given to you when you believe in the entire Bible. And then you have to get rid of those ideas that being gay is okay in the eyes of God, because it is not.
07:18Behave, be decent
I will tell you, even for those that are heterosexual, if they have adulterous relations, if they are promiscuous, they are not going to inherit the kingdom of God either. Just relax. What the Lord God wants for all of us is to behave, to be decent.
07:38I can still be friends with them
Okay? And the point that I'm making right now is about that even them, even in those groups, even among some of those guys and girls that are like that, I can talk with them and I can be friends with them. I can be nice and have a little short visit and whatever.
08:02What their own people say
You know what they say to me when they talk about what their leaders say? They say they are just full of it. Look what they say.
08:10"Your own people will prove that you are wrong"
That's why the Lord Jesus told them clearly, "Your own people will prove that you are wrong."
08:19Nobody will beat the Lord in an argument
My friend, nobody will beat the Lord in an argument. Nobody has the complete knowledge of what's going on. Nobody understands things like our Lord God does.
08:34Holding something against God
Anybody with that idea in his mind, "Well, I have this thing against God." Whatever the thing is. And they think that they can grab this idea their entire life and be mad at the Lord.
08:52At the final judgment
And they think that at the time of the final judgment, when the Lord God is going to judge them, they think that once the Lord is there and they present themselves to give an account of their lives, they think they are going to bring that card and say, "Wait a minute, Your Honor, you cannot judge me because I have this against you." They are going to be surprised.
09:20Humiliated publicly
If anyone has the audacity to argue with our Lord God, this person will be humiliated publicly, notoriously and shamefully. Do you want that?
09:33Be careful what you say to the Lord
You, be careful what kind of things you say to our Lord directly or indirectly.
09:41The Lord puts the proud in their place
The Lord God will always put in His place someone who thinks too much of himself. And on top of that, he's not too smart to believe that he can teach our Lord God a lesson. That is just silly. Don't do that, my friend.
09:58Nobody can beat the Lord
Nobody can beat the Lord.
10:02A question to close
I have a question for you, my friend. Why can't you argue with the LGBT community? Well, because they are not thinking straight.
