Life Lessons · Special message for men
Seven things that keep a man on the path and help him finish strong, from Ezekiel 22:30 to Luke 18
Hello. I wrote this particular teaching especially for men. I hope you will enjoy it, my friend.
“Today we are talking about something that will either strengthen your walk or expose where you have grown comfortable.”
The Lord Jesus will come back one day. The question is simple and serious.
“Will He find faith in you?”
“This isn’t theory. This is about how you live when no one is watching, how you respond when life gets hard, and whether your faith is real or just something you talk about.”
Seven things to stay on the path
There are seven things I want you to keep in mind. They will help you stay on the path and finish strong:
- The Holy Spirit
- The church
- The Bible
- Your pastor
- Your schedule
- A leash: your wife, your child or a friend
- The fear of God
A man to stand in the gap
But one thing I want you to remember is what the Lord has already done for you. In Ezekiel 22:30, the Lord looked for a man who would stand in the gap for the land.
“He found no one. No good leader, no faithful husband, no honest priest, no true prophet, no one.”
That’s a hard word. It shows how easy it is for people to drift. Chapter 23 goes even further: a painful story about two sisters who became unfaithful, a picture of what happens when people turn away from God and chase other things.
“We don’t want to be that story.”
The Holy Spirit, the church and the Bible
“The Holy Spirit is always speaking.”
Sometimes it’s a quiet whisper. Sometimes it’s a strong sense in your spirit. Sometimes He uses a circumstance or a person to get your attention. Don’t ignore Him.
“Second, the church keeps you on track.”
When you stay connected to a local church, you are less likely to wander into the things that pull people away.
“Isolation is dangerous. Community protects.”
Third, the Bible. Read every day, it trains your mind to think about eternity. It changes how you handle money, relationships, decisions and temptation. You start seeing life through God’s eyes instead of the world’s.
Your pastor and your schedule
Your pastor should be someone whose life you can watch: holiness, devotion, integrity. Not perfection, but a consistent example. If you don’t have a pastor or mentor like that, find one.
“You need someone who can speak into your life.”
Your schedule matters.
“Idle time got David into trouble with Bathsheba.”
When you have no plan, temptation finds you. A clear schedule keeps you busy with the right things and less available for the wrong ones.
A leash, and the fear of God
A leash. You may not like that word, but hear me.
“Your wife, your child, a close friend, those people can tell you when you are crossing a line. They love you enough to say, ‘That’s not who you are.’ Listen to them.”
“The fear of God is the greatest safeguard.”
When you truly fear the Lord, you stop before you go down the wrong path. It keeps you humble and careful.
Will He find faith on the earth?
Jesus talked about persistent prayer in Luke 18. He said we should always pray and not give up. Then He asked the question: “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” He knows we get weary. That’s why He told us to stay in prayer: not just asking for things, but staying humble, submitted and connected to Him.
“Prayer keeps your faith alive.”
Finally, remember what the Lord has done for you. When you look back and see His faithfulness, your trust grows. You stop depending on your strength and start trusting the name that is above every name, the name of Jesus.
How you finish well
So I will ask you again: when the Lord Jesus comes back, will He find faith in you?
Stay close to the Holy Spirit, my friend. Stay in the church. Stay in the Word. Stay under godly leadership. Guard your time. Listen to the people who love you, and walk in the fear of God.
“That’s how you finish well.”
I wish you well, my brother. Keep your faith in Jesus.

Dr. Gian lists them: the Holy Spirit, the church, the Bible, your pastor, your schedule, a leash (your wife, your child or a close friend), and the fear of God. "This will help you stay on the path and finish strong."
What does Ezekiel 22:30 say about men?
"The Lord looked for a man who would stand in the gap for the land. He found no one." No good leader, no faithful husband, no honest priest, no true prophet. Dr. Gian: "It shows how easy it is for people to drift."
Why does a man need a leash?
"Your wife, your child, a close friend, those people can tell you when you are crossing a line. They love you enough to say, 'That's not who you are.' Listen to them."
Why does your schedule matter for your faith?
"Idle time got David into trouble with Bathsheba." When you have no plan, temptation finds you; a clear schedule keeps you busy with the right things and less available for the wrong ones.
What does "will He find faith on the earth?" mean?
In Luke 18, Jesus taught that we should always pray and not give up, then asked, "When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" He knows we get weary, so He told us to stay in prayer: humble, submitted and connected to Him. "Prayer keeps your faith alive."
