Every construction begins with a dream: how God uses your pain, why you need healing and training first, and what a daily devotion teaches you

Dr. Gian C. VillatoroAugust 2, 202627 min message

“Every meaningful construction starts with a dream. A dream born from deep desire and ignited by inspiration.”

Right now, you have the chance to begin building your tomorrow. No matter how tough your circumstances may be, you can still take action that brings light back into your life.

Every construction begins with a dream

“Every construction begins with a dream. Dreams are the result of a desire, the result of inspiration.”

You see something or somebody, and suddenly you think, “I would like to have something like that.”

“Do you know that dreamers always cried at some point in their lives? Indeed.”

“They cried because there was pain in their soul.”

Maybe they didn’t have a sweet mom or a loving dad, a nice childhood, or simply no family. Imagine lacking a hand that touches your little face and says, “Have sweet dreams, baby. Tomorrow you will have another wonderful day.” Think about the suffering in the soul of a child victim of abuse. Many dreamers lacked something: food, a Christmas present, the opportunity to go to school or to play sports.

Pain from God’s angle

“Pain in life can move you in the right direction, but you need to see everything from the proper angle, God’s angle.”

“That is how you build your world from God’s angle.”

“Your world is not about things others like.”

“Your world is about the things you truly care about.”

The desires inside of you are there for a reason, my friend.

“God has allowed you to live the experiences you have lived because He wants to use them for something good, not for you, but for others.”

“Observe the greatness of God, that He gives you the ability to take pain and transform it into something beautiful for others.”

Perhaps physically we are not that pretty. So what? The greatness of God is inside of you, and people don’t realize it.

“But if you see the greatness of God inside of you, that greatness will explode logarithmically while you reach out to one person, then another, then another.”

With the passage of time, through the years, the places and the people you touch, the miracle happens. The dream comes true.

The godly design

“How do you begin this process of building your world?”

You need to build your world for the right reasons. You want to be useful in the hands of God. Ask yourself, “What is the goal?”

“You need to make it clear in your mind. It cannot be about money. Money is just a tool. It is not the goal.”

“The godly design is when you realize that what you are about to do, something that you will achieve, has the purpose that people will do something with it.”

Think about what you want to achieve, and write it down. Write down what you want people to do with whatever you do. And always remember your pain and your experiences: if the Lord allowed them to happen, there is a reason.

Healed, trained and accountable

“But before you begin construction, you need to get healed.”

“Well, the wounds inside of your soul, only the Lord God can heal.”

Come to the Lord in prayer and tell Him exactly what is happening inside of you: your frustrations, your pain. He knows that. But when you come to the realization that you need His power to be transformed, that is the beginning of your training.

“You need to get trained before you begin construction.”

You need intelligent, loving, godly people who will give you input, and you need to become and stay accountable.

“Accountability is going to keep you on track, my friend.”

God’s vision, slowly

“The point is you need to discover God’s vision.”

People ask me all the time, “Pastor, how can I discover God’s vision for me?” I give the same answer to everybody:

“That comes slowly through a daily devotion.”

Think of Joseph the Patriarch. He was in Egypt and became second to Pharaoh.

“God’s vision for Joseph was that he will preserve lives.”

Those are the words Joseph said to his brothers the day he revealed who he really was. But by then he was a mature adult with authority and experience. Have you forgotten his years in prison, the betrayals by that couple, by his siblings, in prison?

“The Lord God did not reveal the whole plan to Joseph when he was a little boy.”

The Lord showed him in a dream that he would be great: the stars, the moon, the sun, the coat of colors. But He didn’t say, “In order to get there, little Joseph, you are going to go through all this trouble.”

“The Lord doesn’t reveal the whole thing to anybody. He goes slowly in a process through a daily devotion,”

What a daily devotion teaches you

  • Biblical knowledge. Names, years, places, the books of the Bible, the difference between an apostle and an epistle, the Old and the New Testament.
  • To listen to God’s voice. The Holy Spirit will talk to you directly through the Scripture.
  • Discernment. Without Biblical knowledge you are just guessing everything, like reading a horoscope. When you know the Bible, you understand how the Lord works.
  • To truly read. Read out loud, or play the audio Bible while you read.
  • To investigate, not just Google things. Take a look at who is saying what he’s saying.
  • The truths in life. About friendship, love, church, an honest, decent pastor, money management, eating right.
  • To compare everything and analyze properly. A business proposal, an investment, a job offer: “Let me evaluate what you are saying.”
  • To regroup from time to time. Rest, and take time for yourself.

“Why so many believers make wrong decisions all the time? Because they are not properly trained.”

Your dashboard

“But what will lead you to true success is your dashboard.”

A car’s dashboard tells you the fuel, the engine temperature, any malfunction. In your personal life, your dashboard is any system you develop to have control of everything you are doing: your appointments, your money, your budget, your schedule, your to-do list.

“Intelligent people have dashboards.”

You will be changing

“But while all this is happening in your daily devotion, our Lord God will show you all this that I said, and also you will be changing.”

You will love the Lord God more than anything and anybody else. “I truly need God in my life. I cannot survive without the Lord.” Now you are getting there. You begin to love people, even when they are upsetting. And you love yourself, with a lifestyle that is not selfish but responsible, taking care of yourself spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.

“And you will never hurt people intentionally, my friend.”

If you offend somebody, apologize sincerely and move forward. Sometimes you do 99 great things for people and one bad thing, and they don’t come back.

“If they cannot forgive you and move forward, that is their deal.”

Next week I will teach you how the process of building your world works on a regular basis. I close with John chapter 1 verse 12:

“Those who believe Jesus is the Son of God, who received Him, He gives them the right to become children of God.”

A little humor

Why did your friends hand you the camera for the group picture? “Well, it’s simply because they think that you are ugly.”

And a woman arrives in heaven, and Peter warns her: there are many dogs here; if you step on one, you will be punished by being placed next to a really ugly person. She is very careful. Then a handsome man walks up next to her. “Are you happy to be in heaven?” she asks. “Yeah, except that I step on one of the dogs.”

Share this with someone who has a dream.

Questions this message answers

Questions & answers.

How do you begin building your world?

"Every construction begins with a dream. Dreams are the result of a desire, the result of inspiration." Build it for the right reasons: you want to be useful in the hands of God. "You need to make it clear in your mind. It cannot be about money. Money is just a tool. It is not the goal."

Why does God allow pain in your life?

"Pain in life can move you in the right direction, but you need to see everything from the proper angle, God's angle." "God has allowed you to live the experiences you have lived because He wants to use them for something good, not for you, but for others."

How do you discover God's vision for your life?

Dr. Gian gives everybody the same answer: "That comes slowly through a daily devotion." Joseph's story shows it: "The Lord God did not reveal the whole plan to Joseph when he was a little boy." He showed him a dream that he would be great, not the betrayal and the years in prison on the way.

What do you learn in a daily devotion?

"The first thing that you are going to learn in your daily devotion is Biblical knowledge." Then you learn to listen to God's voice and to discern, to truly read, to investigate instead of just Googling, to see the truths in life, to compare and analyze, and to regroup from time to time. And you build your dashboard, a system to keep control of what you are doing.

What should you do when you offend someone?

You will never hurt people intentionally, but if you offend somebody, "you are going to apologize sincerely and then move forward as quickly as you can". Don't stay too long feeling bad: "If they cannot forgive you and move forward, that is their deal."

00:14Every meaningful construction starts with a dream

Every meaningful construction starts with a dream. A dream born from deep desire and ignited by inspiration. Right now, you have the chance to begin building your tomorrow. Why not try it? No matter how tough your circumstances may be, you can still take action that brings light back into your life. And I am here to show you how.

01:33Every construction begins with a dream

Every construction begins with a dream. Dreams are the result of a desire, the result of inspiration.

01:42Dreams come from inspiration

Dreams come from your inspiration. You see something or somebody, and suddenly you think, "I would like to have something like that."

01:54Dreamers always cried at some point

Do you know that dreamers always cried at some point in their lives? Indeed. They cried because there was pain in their soul.

02:07What they lacked

Maybe because they didn't have a sweet mom or a loving dad or a nice childhood or simply no family. How can you not cry if you lack those essential things in life? How can you not cry if you lack love, affection? Imagine lacking a hand that touches your little face and smiles at you and says, "Have sweet dreams, baby. Tomorrow you will have another wonderful day."

02:42The suffering of a child

Think about the suffering in the soul of a child victim of abuse. Many dreamers were people who lacked something, my friend.

02:54Maybe food, maybe a Christmas present

Maybe food, maybe a Christmas present or the opportunity to go to school or to play sports.

03:03Pain from God's angle

Pain in life can move you in the right direction, but you need to see everything from the proper angle, God's angle. That is how you build your world from God's angle.

03:20Your world is about what you truly care about

Your world is not about things others like. Your world is about the things you truly care about. The things you truly care about are the desires inside of you. They are there for a reason, my friend.

03:41God uses your pain for others

God has allowed you to live the experiences you have lived because He wants to use them for something good, not for you, but for others. Observe the greatness of God, that He gives you the ability to take pain and transform it into something beautiful for others. You will become someone who will touch lives, lives of individuals that need you.

04:14The greatness of God inside of you

Many people don't even realize the greatness of God inside of you.

04:21Eagles Fly (WS#504)

One of those messages that I talk about being optimistic and thinking of your potential is called "Eagles Fly." Here's the QR code. If you want to experience that message, I will encourage you to do it.

04:37Support us if you can

You know, my friend, that in order to do what we do, we always spend money, always in everything we do. That is why we say to everybody, "Support us if you can."

04:51Broadcasting 24/7

You know, we are broadcasting 24/7. We are using Facebook, Twitch, Rumble, Vimeo, YouTube, our own website. And for those who have access to a smart TV, here are the logos of the four different TV apps we developed. Our ministry is so pleased to tell you that. Roku, Amazon, also Apple TV, and Samsung TV.

05:23Some humor: the group picture

I want to tell you a little funny thing. One day, somebody said to me, "You know that in my group of friends, they did something strange and I still don't get it." And I said, "What is it?" Well, there was the moment to take a group picture, and they hand me the camera. So I thought, "Why did they hand me the camera?" And I said, "Well, it's simply, it's because they think that you are ugly."

05:53Perhaps we are not that pretty

And the thing is, perhaps physically, we are not that pretty. So what's the problem with that? You know, the greatness of God inside of you is inside of you. And people don't realize that. But if you see the greatness of God inside of you, that greatness will explode logarithmically while you reach out to one person, then another, then another. With the passage of time, my friend, through the years and places you are, and the people you touch, the miracle happens. The dream has come true.

06:41How do you begin building your world?

How do you begin this process of building your world? Is something inside of you that you need to discover? Of course. But you need to build your world for the right reasons. You want to be useful in the hands of God, my friend. You need to ask yourself, "What is the goal?"

07:04Money is just a tool

Right? You need to make it clear in your mind. It cannot be about money. Money is just a tool. It is not the goal.

07:16The godly design

The godly design is when you realize that what you are about to do, something that you will achieve, has the purpose that people will do something with it. That is the godly design. You need to think, "What is what I want to achieve?"

07:36Write it down

And then you write it down. And when you write that down, you also need to figure it out right there. What is what you want people to do with whatever you do?

07:50Remember your pain

That is a godly design. You always need to remember your pain. You need to remember your experiences. When you remember your pain, when you remember your experiences, you are going to be thinking that whatever happened, if the Lord allowed it to happen, it's because there is a reason. And from there, you're going to take it, like the dreamers, like those that never have anything. And now they want to accomplish something with their lives.

08:23Get healed before you begin construction

But before you begin construction, you need to get healed. And that is the important question. How can you get healed? Well, the wounds inside of your soul, only the Lord God can heal.

08:38Come to the Lord in prayer

That is why you come to the Lord in prayer, and you tell Him exactly what is what is happening inside of you. What are your frustrations? What is your pain? He knows that. But the fact that you see it, that you come to the realization that you need His power to be transformed, to be healed, that will be the beginning of your training.

09:06Get trained, and stay accountable

You need to get trained before you begin construction. And for that matter, you need people that are intelligent, that they are loving, godly people, that will give you the input in your life. Because you need that, and you need to become and stay accountable. Accountability is going to keep you on track, my friend. You will not go to the right or to the left. You will stay on track.

09:37Discover God's vision

The point is you need to discover God's vision. And how do you discover that vision?

09:44"Pastor, how can I discover God's vision for me?"

Recently, one of my friends in California asked me that question. And I received that question all the time. Pastor, how can I discover God's vision for me? And I give the same answer to everybody. That comes slowly through a daily devotion.

10:07Joseph the Patriarch

Let me give you one example. Joseph. Joseph the Patriarch. You remember the 12 tribes of Israel? You remember that? Okay. Joseph is one of those. He is in Egypt, and he became second to Pharaoh. And from there, Moses came into the story eventually to release the Israelites. Joseph played a very important place in history.

10:44God's vision for Joseph: to preserve lives

God's vision for Joseph was that he will preserve lives. Those are the words Joseph said to his brothers the day that he revealed who he really was. I realized, he said, the pain that you caused me, it was just for me to be here, to preserve lives. But at this point, Joseph was already way ahead in his life, an adult, a mature adult father, in authority with so much experience.

11:24His years in prison

However, have you forgotten his years in prison? Have you forgotten his years being betrayed by that woman and the wife? I'm sorry, and the husband? Forgive me. Have you forgotten that? He was betrayed for that couple. He was betrayed in prison. He was betrayed by his siblings. What about all the sufferings? And here's the point that I want you to understand.

11:55God did not reveal the whole plan

The Lord God did not reveal the whole plan to Joseph when he was a little boy. The Lord showed him in a vision and a dream that he would be great. He told him about the stars, the moon, the sun. He told him about the coat, the tunic of colors. Do you remember that?

12:17"Little Joseph, you are going to go through all this trouble"

But the Lord didn't say, in order to get there, little Joseph, you are going to go through all this trouble. No. And that is the way that the Lord works. The Lord doesn't make anything simple to anybody.

12:37Slowly, through a daily devotion

The Lord doesn't reveal the whole thing to anybody. He goes slowly in a process through a daily devotion, a daily devotion with the Lord. In that devotion, you are going to learn several things, write them down.

12:561. Biblical knowledge

The first thing that you are going to learn in your daily devotion is Biblical knowledge. You need to start writing names, years, places. Supposedly, you should know the books of the Bible. You are supposed to understand the difference between apostle and epistle.

13:18The Old and the New Testament

Biblical knowledge, what is the Old Testament? What is the New Testament? Imagine you are a believer and you don't even understand if there is a book called Numbers and what is Haggai. Biblical knowledge will come when you are reading the Bible.

13:352. Listen to God's voice

Second, you will learn to listen to God's voice because the Lord, the Holy Spirit, will talk to you directly through the Scripture. And of course, you will start to feel in your heart, this is what He is talking to me today.

13:513. Discernment

You will learn about discernment. That is a very beautiful attribute of the Holy Spirit inside of you. He leads you. But if you don't have Biblical knowledge, you don't understand anything in the Bible. You are just guessing everything.

14:10Not a horoscope

You know, it's like those Christians that they are gambling with, "Okay, let's see what the Bible says to me." It's like reading the horoscope or palm reader, card reader. What difference does it make if the person doesn't know the Bible?

14:29When you know the Bible

But when the person knows the Bible, understands the purpose of the gospel, the book of Acts explains to us the processes of planting churches and training people, then you will start to understand how the Lord works, the voice of the Holy Spirit, and then you will have discernment. Okay, next thing you will know is you will learn to truly read.

14:564. Learn to truly read

People say, "I don't know how to read." Well, you are going to learn to truly read. "I just don't know how to read." Well, you will learn. That's the point.

15:07Easy reading techniques

And there are techniques, very easy techniques. One, you read out loud. If you don't know how to pronounce that word, well, make it up for this first time. Or search it online. Second, you can put the audio Bible as you are reading the Bible. The point is you are going to learn to truly read, because reading the Bible will open your understanding. Listen, intelligent people comprehend things. If you are intelligent, and I hope you are, you are understanding what I am saying. You are following what I am saying. You are able to read, for example, what you see here on the screen. You understand. And when people understand the Bible and people understand a preacher, eventually they are going to transfer that mechanism to any field. Therefore, they become really smart in anything.

16:115. Investigate, don't just Google

The next thing you will learn in your daily devotion is, you will learn to investigate, not just Google things. People think that by going online and just typing a little question, and then the first thing pops up, that's the answer. Not my friend.

16:30Ads and posts

The first things that you will see online are ads. The first thing that you see on any platform like YouTube is a bunch of people that are advertising something. Only a naive person, someone is low. Are you slow? Someone that is really a fool will believe every post that you see on Facebook or on YouTube or Instagram or TikTok. Listen, take a look at who is saying what he's saying. You will learn to investigate. You want to know about me, for example? Investigate. You will find out.

17:166. Your eyes will be open to the truths in life

The next thing you will know, you are going to learn that actually there are many truths in life. Your eyes will be really open to the truths in life. Suddenly, the truths about friendship, the truths about love, the truths about church, the truths about an honest, decent pastor, the truths about preaching, the truths about online preaching, many things, the truths about money management, the truths about eating right. Your eyes will be really open to the truths in life.

17:597. Compare and analyze

You will learn to compare everything to analyze properly. People tell you stuff, write it down, make a note, and you say, "Let me evaluate what you are saying." A business proposal, an investment proposal, a job offer.

18:19Why so many believers make wrong decisions

Once you do your daily devotion and all this intelligence begins to grow inside of you, and the Lord, the Holy Spirit, will lead you, eventually you will become really intelligent. Why so many Christians are dumb? Why so many Christians are so foolish? Why so many believers make wrong decisions all the time? Because they are not properly trained. They don't do a daily devotion. The Bible has the purpose of opening the understanding of a person. But when you are doing it and you are getting familiar with the voice of the Holy Spirit, the truths of the Bible, Biblical knowledge, eventually you will compare everything. People offer you something. You say, "Let me analyze this."

19:098. Regroup from time to time

Also, you will learn to regroup from time to time. Because in your daily devotion, you need to take your time also to rest and say, "I need to take time for myself right now." Regroup, rest, etc.

19:29Your dashboard

But what will lead you to true success is your dashboard. What is the dashboard? Imagine a vehicle. It tells you if you have fuel, the temperature of the engine, any malfunction, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, immediately. Something as simple as that. Even the oldest of the cars will tell you how much gas do you have in the vehicle. That's the dashboard.

20:01A system to control what you do

But in your personal life, your dashboard is exactly any system that you develop where you are going to have control of everything you are doing.

20:15Losers don't have dashboards

Losers don't have dashboards. They don't have schedules. They don't have to-do lists. Losers don't pay attention to anything. Are you a loser? Are you a loser?

20:33Intelligent people have dashboards

Intelligent people have dashboards. They have different methods to know about their appointments, their money, their budget, their schedule, their to-do list. What are the things that they should do? Why do you think people fail all the time? Because they don't have discipline. They don't have control of anything.

20:58While this is happening, you will be changing

But while all this is happening in your daily devotion, our Lord God will show you all this that I said, and also you will be changing. With the passage of time, you change and become a different person. And your exposure to the Bible, and your readings, and your analysis of the Scripture, and your conversations with the Lord God, you are going to be changing.

21:31You will love God more than anything

For what? Well, first of all, you are going to be changing to become someone that understands that God loves you and you love the Lord, and you will start loving God more and more, more and more to the point that you are going to love the Lord God more than anything else, more than anybody else. You say, "I truly need God in my life. I cannot survive without the Lord." There you go. Now we are talking. Now you are getting there.

22:03You begin to love people

And the second thing, you begin to love people. And I know people can be really upsetting, disturbing, annoying, betrayal, etc. But as you do your daily devotion, you are going to be more and more filled with the Word of God, the knowledge of God, meaning the love of God for Him and for everybody else.

22:32You love yourself

You are going to love yourself, which will take you to a new lifestyle that is not selfish, but responsible to yourself. You will take good care of yourself in all aspects, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically.

22:52Never hurt people intentionally

A Christian should be a person that shows that he is someone that is paying attention to his things. And you will never hurt people intentionally, my friend.

23:06Apologize sincerely and move forward

In your daily devotion, you are going to be reflecting about what you are doing, what you are saying, how are you interacting with people. But if for any reason you offend somebody, you are going to apologize sincerely and then move forward as quickly as you can and don't stay too long in the "I feel bad" mode. Many people just can't let it go. Sometimes you do 99 great things for people and one bad thing. And for that one thing, they don't want to come back to you as friends or relatives or whatever.

23:48You cannot stay in the "I feel bad" mode

What you need to do is you apologize sincerely and you move forward because you cannot stay in the "I feel bad" mode. You know, it is what it is. If they cannot forgive you and move forward, that is their deal.

24:04Next week: Build Your Future

But I want to tell you the next week, I will teach you how the process of building your world is on a regular basis. So join me here next week.

24:15John 1:12

Today I want to close with the verse of John chapter 1 verse 12. "Those who believe Jesus is the Son of God, who received Him, He gives them the right to become children of God."

24:30Some humor: the dogs in heaven

Today I have a funny story for you, my friend. It is the story of a woman. It is a joke, of course, okay? This woman comes to heaven and when she sees Peter at the gate, she is happy and Peter says, "Welcome to heaven, lady. You can do many good things here and you will receive more instructions, but there is one thing that I want you to be careful with." And she says, "What is that?" You see, we have many dogs here. What, what, what, what, what, what? All the dogs, right? She says, "I see that. Why is that?" Well, it's just a thing that we have here. Remember, this is a joke. Okay, so Peter says, "So please be careful. Don't step on any of the dogs." She says, "Well, but what if you, if you do that? Well, you don't want that because if you step on any of the other dogs, what is going to happen is you are going to be punished." And she says, "And what is the punishment?" The punishment is that they are going to put you nearby an ugly person. Really, really ugly. She says, "I don't want that. I want pretty people around me. I know. That's why I'm saying don't step on any on the dogs, the dogs." So she says, "Okay." So she's very careful. Wherever she goes, you know, she's very careful. She sees the dogs. "I'm not going to step here." So she's very, very careful. But eventually it happened that all of a sudden there is a handsome man that is walking next to her. So she turns and she looks at him and she says, "Hi, how are you?" And the guy says, "I'm fine. How are you? Well, I am great." And she's thinking, "This is nice. A handsome man next to me." So she says, "Are you happy to be in heaven?" And he says, "Yeah, except that I step on one of the dogs."
